| You can't really compare Alien and Aliens. They are completely different movies. Both excellent in their own right. |

I wholeheartedly agree. I was surprised at the moments of humour and nice timing and camerawork. It was not a paint by the numbers project.
But I can see how those who don't like Spiderman movies might lump them all together.
The contrast wasn't as great as with other sequel improvements. |

| Eh I should say trilogies that were meant as a trilogy from the beginning don't count. Things like Star Wars, LOTR, Back to the Future, etc. |

Apples and oranges. T1 had the superior story, T2 had the better SF/X and action sequences. |

Yes forgot about Star Trek 2 Wrath of Kahn great sequel. Chinatown is a sequel I will have to look this up.
Ahh The Two Jakes is the horrible sequel to Chinatown. |
