Spliff, any old HDMI cable should be fine at that length.
As for 1080p, I'm not sure if you can go any higher than 1080i with component, although I could be wrong? Maybe the Xbox 360 used to do that over component -- I'm not sure. I think it can be done, but in the future, they may decide to lock-out 1080p on anything but an HDMI connection.
Just about any decent or mid-grade cable should do for the component. I wouldn't go incredibly cheap, but don't spend a ton either. |

| It's for my internet TV tuner box to the TV. Doesn't have a hdmi output and the cables they provided are only cheap non-component cables. |

You are talking gobledeegook now Spliff.
You don't have an HDMI port on your 360 nor a DVI port.
You have the standard outpute from the 360 which can be a component cable out or with the extra cable you have VGA out.
Both do 1080p since the 360 was updated in 2006. If games support 1080p it's on the outside. |

You don't have HDMI out.

YOU NEED AN HDMI PORT ON YOUR XBOX360
I have got an older xbox360 without the HDMI port so after reading this discription i thougth that this cable/adapters ads a HDMI port to my xbox so that i could use the full potential of my Full HD plasma screen.
But when i received the cable it seems that the adapter only has the Optical/RCA connector and 2 analoge audio ports.
The HDMI cable supplied is just a standard HDMI cable that you could buy at any audio/video store. |

Doesn't G-Market have better sales on the same product?
SPLIFF:
Just curious why you chose the Samsung PAVV over LG X-Canvas which is 300,000 won cheaper? Is there really a big difference? |

As mentioned on another thread, I now have a 40" Samsung PAVV Full HD (fully loaded). I am finding that some channels on cable are exceptionally good quality (HD), however the majority are mediocre at best.
Is it a worthwhile investment to buy digital cable? What extra channels (in English) would I receive?
Secondly, I am finding my torrent downloads are fairly poor quality on the new tv (those not clearly labelled as HD). Even the higher end downloads of some of my favorite sci-fi shows, appears as if I am on set filming the actors. In other words, the exceptionally clear quality almost negates the enjoyable experience of fantasy television. Anyone else have this sense when watching downloads on full HD television? |

There are some settings that can make playback more video-like -- look for something called "motion enhancement", possibly. Just a guess, because I've only seen that working on movies set to 24fps. Stuff shot on video looks a lot more like video, too. I noticed that with news (even without motion enhancement settings on).
Yes, one of the criticisms of LCD TVs are exactly what you have said. Some people take a while to get used to it. I have a plasma, which doesn't look like that, but plasmas aren't as popular because everyone gets wowed by the super-sharp image of the LCDs in the showroom.
As for digital cable... it will improve SD channel quality, but you won't get a lot more HD channels for the money (we don't in our area, anyway). Depends where you are. We can buy an SD digital package and just keep the regular HD channels that come down anyway.... we've considered it, but don't watch enough TV to care right now. We watch movies. |
