Ok, so I recently bought a bike. When I bought the bike the guy gave me a guarantee that if anything broke he'd fix it. Well sure enough, it broke. I bought the bike in a town an hour from me, and it broke in another town about 30mins from me. My Korean co-teacher has been calling the seller, and telling him to go pick it up, but he hasn't done so YET. But he says he will.
The guy who has my bike, wants W100,000 for picking up the bike, and storage, which is bullshit. He picked it up and went like 3 blocks. He told me to fix the bike would be a 1mil cause the engine seized (I think, cuase of the translation). There WAS fresh oil in it, I change it every 2 tanks of gas, and I JUST had it done.
Should I take it to another shop in the town that it's in, and see if I can get a better rate, or should I go to the seller and force his monkey ass to go pick it up, and fix the fucken thing??? |

| Should be no problem as you have this "guarantee" in writing. If he just ignores you take him to court. |

Do you really trust a Korean Motorcyle Mechanic?
In the smaller shops that sell scooters and 125cc Daelims, the guys fix everything with gaffa tape and wire.
Good mechanics are few and very far between, you need to find a guy who does Jap bikes and has all the gear.
Just look around you. What do you notice about Korea? Everything is shoddy, shoddy education, shoddy housing, shoddy motorcycle mechanics!
Do it yourself, bikes are easy to work on! |

I completely disagree. I watch what is done to my bike most of the time. It's exactly what needs to be mechanically, no corners cut.
I don't do it myself b/c I haven't invested in all the tools and it is so cheap to get it done at a shop. |

Ya it's usually pretty cheap...but a 1mil won??
I know a guy who had his tranny rebuilt for 250!!
*beep*, I bought the bike for 1.6mil...its a 250cc....
I feel like he's trying to hose me |

Between a rock and a hard place. The seller would rather you disappear because he has your 1.6million won already. That 'guarantee' he gave you was supposed to be theoretical, he's probably thinking.
The other guy who walked your bike 3 blocks and who is 'storing' it for 100,000 won is obviously trying to take advantage of you with this incredible savings brought to you! He says it'll be '1,000,000' won to fix. If he likes big numbers to play with maybe he should have been an accountant.
I'd get your co-teacher or friends to find a guy with a bongo truck who'll run the bike back to your home town the thirty minutes drive. Just a guy with a bongo truck, nothing to do with motorbike mechanics. Then you're not far from home in a 'distress' situation. That's if it'll roll. You said it's seized up.
Then get to talking with the guy who sold it to you. See what he says. If he won't take responsibility then look for an honest mechanic and start from scratch. IT may well cost 1,000,000 won. But that's with a trustworthy mechanic so you know for sure, when opening it up.
The guy who sold it to you said that, if something went wrong with it, he'd fix it for free? He probably meant minor things. Seizing up there's damage and parts to replace. Is he going to pay for parts? I doubt he's going to be a jolly good samaritan this far from Christmas.

Go near a military base and find the black guy who works at the auto repair shop. He's a USGVT contractor of some kind. Get him to help you out. |

I only say that because it's a running joke with the soldiers around here, but notice I said "near" not "on" base. There will be an auto repair shop and a black guy who speaks perfect English and he's always really friendly. He works for the government and fixes vehicles for the officers and high ranked NCOs. |

Hey brother,
How far are you from Seoul? I got some boys up there who ride real bikes they know all the reapir shops AND speak korean.
You might also want to see if the seller will "trade" you for a better one?
Oh and I will be riding up to seoul at the end of june with some buddies if you want to join us |
