The way this has backfired on her I'm glad she spoke. Unfortunate for the Tibetans now that they have to contend with this moron. Didn't she embarrass Israel a while ago too? It seems the media theses days is running to celebrities for exclusives on stupidity. Where's Charlie Sheen?

Either knee deep in hookers and blow or watching Loose Change.

Sharon Stone is actually a very intelligent woman, but she didn't use common sense when saying that. She made herself sound like Jerry Falwell who said homosexuals were to blame for 9/11. Now, some people have had a hard time feeling sorry for China since China has been enabling the Sudan to ethnic cleanse the Darfuris, helping the Burmese junta suppress the Karen and the whole country, and there is the vicious suppression of Tibet and the strident nationalism among the Chinese and denying any wrong vis-a-vis the Tibetans. That said, the Chinese who suffered in China are still victims who deserve our sympathy and people all over the world are swayed politics and natural disasters happen all over the world from San Francisco to China, and it is inappropriate to use the word karma in this fashion, and I am sure the Dalai Lama doesn't approve of this. I am 100% sure he doesn't. The Chinese people need our support, not our scorn.

From here:

Quote:
She may be credited as one of Hollywood's brainiest beauties - but SHARON STONE is not a member of high IQ society MENSA. The BASIC INSTINCT (1992) star was widely reported to be a member of the organisation after impressing pals and co-stars with her intellect. But Mensa have angrily slammed reports that the blonde actress is a member and are demanding she takes a test to prove how smart she really is. JIM BLAKMORE, a spokesman for the society says,

"Ms. Stone is not now and never has been a member. Some in the media have reported that she is smart enough to be, but repeated efforts on our part to have the offending information removed or to get Sharon Stone to submit prior evidence or take the test have been unsuccessful. Sorry if this bursts your bubble. "

Our knowledge about the nature of the universe and of life on Earth ought to be totally hostile to Karma or any other morally-debasing religious junk.
Stone is offensive and a total has-been. I hope she doesn't still think she can cut it as sexy at 50 years of age because to do so would be as delusional as her belief in Karma for victims of natural disasters.

I could care less what Sharon Stone thinks. Even if I so happened to agree with her, it wouldn't matter a bit.

Good for China. I am tired of condescending, ignorant celebrities opining on world affairs, usually unsolicited. Let this be a lesson to the rest of them.

Susan Surandon (sp) says she is moving to Canada if McCain wins (from Thurs NYPost).

Kinda related..

Has she even done anything in the past decade?

In the past eight years or so we've had all kinds of celebrities threatening to move to Canada. From what I can tell George Clooney, Alec Baldwin, Robert Redford, and Barbara Streisand are still here. As much as I like to make fun of Korean celebrities getting all wound up about Mad Cow, we give celebrities much, much more influence and credit back home. Hell, if you live in California and are famous, you can get away with all kinds of crimes. In Korea there's still the tendency to hold public figures accountable to a higher standard . . . I mean entertainment figures, not corporate leaders or politicians.
