What are you looking for specifically? I have purchased a number of things myself but almost all of it new. Most camping stores here are geared towards car camping but there are some items for the more "compact gear concerned camper." There are lots of stores around the Jongo O ga area, between the subway line and the Cheongyecheon.
Most of it is upper level gear - packs, climbing gear, stoves, hammocks, camping cutlery. I even bought a pair of camping chopsticks from Japan.
There are quite a few stores there so have a look around first before you buy, as prices and service vary. They also sell camping soju cups!!! But of course!!!
Near the corner of one of the Northern exits there is a street stand that sells GI meals. They are quite cheap and all inclusive. Just add a tiny bit of water - no stove necessary.
There is another good store near in the Yongsan Gu area. If I can remember where it is exactly I will post it here. They have a good selection as well, but it isn't cheap - depending on what you want of course.
If you are just looking for dirt cheap stuff, most E-marts and Homever stores carry cheap tents and sleeping bags - it may not yet be "Korean Camping season" though!
For fishing gear, there are lots of areas around Seoul - one I know of is near Yongsan Station just East of the Police Station and the conveniently located Pink Zone. It is on the road to Sinyongsan station. Additionally, there is a good map store right beside one of the Southern exits for Sinyongsan. It also sells topographical maps.
I can't tell you how much the fishing gear costs as I only fly fish and have not bought any spinning reel and rod gear here. I imagine it is quite affordable though. |
