hey all,
i was wondering if any of you got any offers for public school jobs even though you were to move to korea after the sept 1 session starts. its a good chance i won't be able to move until novemeber 1st. does this mean i can only look for hagwon jobs? if taken, since it is a year contract, how will i be able to work for a public school if the contract ends after the initial start date of pb schools? like to hear your inputs on this. thanks!

Definitely no problem in finding Public School jobs after the normal start time for the Semester ... Both due to all jobs not being filled and people whose contracts finish at different times ... So you will be in a position to apply for both public school jobs and hagwon jobs ..
I started my job in a Public school last year at the end of March when school had gone back at the start of March ... so I know from personal experience that it is possible |

all public schools are different. how your contract is interpreted will depend largely on your head teacher, vp, and principal.
the good thing about public schools though are that they are often kept in check by the school board above them, and you'll be able to contact the foreign coordinator there if there are problems with your contract at the school |

I don't. Thinking about switching to a hagwon. The only thing holding me back is the vacation time. I like my job when I'm not there. |

You can find them, but you may not get to pick who you work for. SMOE is a good example. They do occasionally hire between the main hiring seasons, but not always. It can be hit or miss and my depend on your qualifications. |

LOL... It'd be a great job if it wasn't for the 'customers'. |
