I was contacted by the associate producer of the show. He needed information on the rocket arrow carts (hwacha/화차) that were used during the Yi Choson dynasty here in Korea (1392-1910). I am good friends with the fletcher and son who make the hwachas for museums and such. I was very impressed with the questions he asked, as it bodes well for the show trying to do a historically accurate segment. He said they will start building their hwacha next week. I look forward to seeing the show when it's done.

I'm not quite sure what myth they are trying to bust; I can only guess that maybe it will have something to do with reported distances they were able to shoot or something like that. In any case, it will be interesting to see what they come up with.

I have seen a program regarding this on the History Channel, quite interesting that Mythbusters is doing a show on it. I will be looking for it, good stuff here. They were like the MLRS systems of the modern Army is my assumption correct?

Could you ask them to check out fan death while they're at it?

Yes, that is correct. There were a few different varieties (S, M, L), those that had explosive heads, those that were simply projectiles, and so on.

Laughing Remember that episode when they explored the myth about the Chinese scholar (king?) that attached a large selection of firecrackers to his chair & supposedly launched into space? If they can cover that myth surely fan death would be doable.

From what I remember, there wasn't anything left, to speak of, of the mannequin they used for the "pilot".

Yes, that was a great episode. I think the best part of the show is the boy-like glee these guys get from blowing shit up.

I must confess that I am a Mythbusters addict. It'll be nice to see them tackle this. They busted the Confederate rocket and the steam rocket so let's see if the hwatcha is the real deal.
