I have pair of V-moda Vibes IEMs, clean, very balanced Highs and Lows. They're about $101 at http://shop.v-moda.com/ and $5 flat shipping outside of the US. I think you can buy them from a headphone shop in the Sinchon subway station for a lot less and of course free shipping if you go there.
If you can increase your budget I would recommend the Swedish made q-Jays but they sell for about $230. I haven't bought from these guys but I may order my q-Jays from them. http://www.earphoneshop.co.kr/ or http://www.headphoneshop.co.kr/

Those V-moda Vibe's get a great review and are right in my price range.
The downside is that they don't do much noise isolation. I'm really looking for IEM's to block out the chattering schoolkids and cellphone ajummas on my daily commute.
I might just go for them anyway. It could be dangerous to have isolating earphones on the mean streets of Seoul. |

| Go to www.headphoneshop.co.kr and audition a few pairs, and decide which ones you like. I went there once with the intention of buying some Audio Technica phones but came out with Ultrasone HFI700DVD. |

The apple re-seller in COEX has started to stock shure ear-buds. Prices start at around 100,000 and go up to around 350,000 if memory serves me correctly.
Link-O in COEX also stock some high end ear-buds again shure's although their prices escape me at this time. |

Only if you're half deaf. I used to think my $20 sony's sounded good. Then I experienced hi-fi audio on studio professional headphones. It's like pulling an inch of wax out of your ears. You'd be amazed. |

There are two large headphone shops that I know of.
One of them is at the Yongsan station building (I-park?) in that newer electronics market area. It's a few floors up.... can't remember where, but it's along a back wall. Maybe it's the 2nd floor from the top.. or 3rd?
There is another place behind the Hagen Daas at Hyewha station. It's along one of those back rows of business behind there.
Both places sell tons of everything. |

Unless you're playing your music at volume 1 they will isolate very well. I usually play Pearl Jam or Creed at mid volume and I can't hear nothing beyond the music.
I've had mine for 1.5 years and no problem so far. |

Very true. There's a world of difference in headphones. I tried some Skullcandy headphones at the EyeEar exhibition at COEX recently. Amazing. The 3D effect was striking. All the instruments were placed exactly in your head. Drums in the centre. Guitar panning across left right. Keyboards kind of to the left. Vocal centre. Cheap headphones can't do that. |

Yeah. I'm still thinking of getting the V-moda Vibes. I care more about the sound than the isolating ability. |

Shows you how different people are -- I thought Skullcandy headphones sounded poor. What I loved were the Denon headphones I tried at the store near Hyewha station... that is until I learned that they cost $800! |
