From The Sound of Music:
So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye...
The nah nah song -- can be heard at sporting events. The chorus ends with Hey Hey Goodbye.

Adios Amigo by Jim Reeves. Just so that even your final day doesn't turn into merely an English lesson with an obnoxious (to them) western song as the material.
And/or
The hymn Abide with Me, breaking into The Last Post a la funerals.
As it ends give them a snappy salute. Practise in the mirror to get a martial bearing. The hand must quiver with the arm's rigidity. |

I will remember you. works well for older students.
Easter! That karaoke is GOD awful. Please make one or if I have the time, I will. Those fake pictures are just the worst! Sorry for the rant but this is my cup of tea...

I agree--I wouldn't use it in the classroom, but for "performing" the song for the TV show, it would serve its purpose as a strictly music-only / no-vocals track. |

How about "Song Long, Everyone!". Written by a GEPIK teacher for the last chapter, and it's easy for the kids to get and sing quickly.
And the karaoke .kfn files are here. |

glad you liked it -
I mean really - these kids put together working robots in elementary school - the sound of music with julie andrews just doesn't cut it -
if K's ever gonna make some decent sounds, they're gonna need to hear some first
rock on... |

Well thanks all for chiming in. It's been very entertaining reading these cheeky posts.
Actually I wound up using Genki English's Goodbye Song which has
goodbye
thank you
in the summer in the autumn in the winter in the spring
and it was nice and upbeat, not too sad.
Thanks all! |

Johnny Wayne and Frank Suster were Canadian comic icons. They ended their tv show (similar to the Carol Burnett show) with this great good bye song.
CLOSING THEME (1968 to 1989)
By the Clock on the Wall by Johnny Wayne and Frank Shuster
Well I see by the clock on the wall. That it's time to bid you one and all.
Goodbye (Goodbye) So long (So long) Farewell (Farewell) Adieu (Adieu)
Be good (Stay Well) Bye Bye (Keep Warm) Relax (And Eat) Take Care (Stay Loose)
Adieu mon vieux. A la prochaine. Goodbye 'til when we meet again! |
