Two problems with this measurement.
#1, MI is included. Clinton's votes are counted but Obama receives no vote because he was not on the ballot.
| Quote: |
| Michigan** 01/15 - 328,309 55.2% Clinton +328,309 +55.2% |
#2, Caucuses are set beside Primaries. They are not the same thing, and have widely varying turnouts. So since Obama is weaker in Primaries, his support dwindles in a popular vote context because Caucuses have a fraction of the turnout of Primaries. |

| The only facts I draw from all of this is that (a) it remains a close race; and (b) Clinton and her supporters are looking to exploit every possible pretext and possibility, even the long-shot ones, before accepting defeat. |

Clinton has repeatedly shown a blatant disregard for any distinction between right and wrong in favour of any position that is to her personal advantage. She will do and say whatever it takes, even when it obviously is wrong or unfair, to get her way. There is no integrity except that of a hedgehog. She will be a divisive, partisian, say-anything politician of the worst stripe already in Washington. Cut a backroom deal to get her pet project pushed through? Sure. Court lobbyists to strengthen her personal wealth and future political power. Sure. Lie outright and often to the American people as long as her agenda is moving along? Sure.
Clinton is the uber-Bush of the other extreme. May she rot in her Senate seat. |

But you just described nearly all politicians, of all national and partisan stripes, in one fell swoop.
Do not kid yourself and tell yourself that Obama strays very far from this pattern. |

| I bet their are a lot of people who complained about Bush and the popular vote in 2000 that have no problem with Obama winning despite the fact that he is behind in the popular vote if you include Michigan and Florida. |

Since nation-wide popular vote does not mean a thing in the nominating process and follows that up with meaning nothing in the general election, it strikes me as a meaningless factoid. It's like counting freckles in December.
Iowa held a closed caucus in January. Closed caucus. No one knows how many supporters either candidate has in the general population. So what if a pollster calls up on the phone and asks who you support. They cannot very accurately predict if your level of support is such that you will go out and actually cast a ballot on election day. |
