My boyfriend is from Spain and his 3 month visa waiver is gonna be up in a month or so.
We are going to Taiwan next weekend so if they stamp the passport with a new visa then he is golden, if not then what are the other options to renew his tourist visa?

Also, do you think they will give him a new stamp before the expiry of the old one, even if he asks them and explains that he just wants to travel thru Korean for another month or so?

He won't have a problem. Once he leaves his old one is basically cancelled. When he comes back he will get a new entry stamp and 90 more days.

Leave and return - the clock starts again on a new 90 days.

To the best of my knowledge he cannot extend the waiver stamp beyond 90 days unless there are exceptional circumstances (like medical reasons such as hospital confinement ) for not leaving and then he would switch to a G1.

Leave and return - doesn't matter where he goes to... just as long as he gets the exit stamp. He gets a new B1 (90 days) on his return.

Has anyone visited Kaesong on a tourist entry here? Does that restart the clock?
