Well, I wouldn't be so quick to put him in such exalted company. He's a fine speaker, certainly, and has moments of eloquence. I'll give you that. JFK had great speech writers like Sorenson and Schlesinger, who wrote most of his famous speeches. King came from the oratorical tradition of the Black Baptist South, the Christian Leadership Conference. His speeches had a rhythm and cadence I have yet to hear in Obama, though the latter indeed has potential. |
Obama has a 26 year old speechwriter from Taxachusetts. Pretty damn impressive, even if it is basically elegant fluff. |
Ha ha. Why did you call it Taxachusetts? |

| Haven't heard the term before? It is in reference to its left-wing oriented populace and state gov't (bill weld and mitt romney excluded). |

I've heard it before! I grew up in Maine, after all. But I'm wondering why he employed it here. |

| Same reason people sometimes talk about "the People's Republic of California" when scorning Californian politics. Weird seeing that particular poster speak of "Taxachusetts," though. |

Seems like something found in McGarrett's idiolect. |

So you employed it to ridicule McGarrett's "idiolect." Only it was so subtle that you had to explain it.
Brilliance, indeed. |

Hey, I just saw the pattern. So you are not merely superior to McGarrett and myself; you are also superior to the speechwriter who merely writes "elegant fluff."
I imagine that explains perfectly why he works for Obama and you for a South Korean hogwon. Run along now, Jill. |

I work for the public schools, and your attempt at urbane and dismissive is just as stale as ever. |
