It seems my computer is fucked and to be honest i'd like to get rid of all the crap its accumulated over a year. Therefore i would like to reinstall the harddrive. Is there anywhere in Seoul that could help me or is it easy enough to do myself? I have the Microsoft CD that allows me to reinstall it. I would also like to know what happens regarding the internet? Is Internet Explorer reinstalled with Windows XP or do i have to do something else?
Can i download a new copy of Office easily enough? |

You usually need a few CDs (3).
Usually you need the windows CD, the mainboard CD and the video card CD.
IF you have them, then a re-format and fresh install takes about 1-2 hours (depending on your hardware and computer speed.)
IE is part of your windows install. The upgrades will happen automatically if you turn then on during your installation.
It is not hard to do and you can do it yourself. If you don't want to, then any computer shop can do it for you. They should only charge you about 20-30k won for the service.
MS-office is easy enough to find on-line or at Yongsan (legal or unauthorized copies).

Sounds like you should just take it to a shop. |

If you have all the original CDs, just stick in the restore CD and follow the directions.
Simple as eating pie and ice cream and pretty idiot-proof.
IF you go to a shop, that is exactly what he will do anyway.

Yeah, but "he" may mumble some secret incantation or wave a magic wand and, you have to admit, that would be worthwhile and fun to witness. |
