So I really like this school but the hours are 4-10. Has anyone worked these hours and if so did you like?

It's probably a middle school or high school hogwan. I've worked at a few of these part time. They were all pretty good gigs, nice owners who were a little more serious about education and discipline than the average elementary style academy. Trouble is the hours. If you can deal with that kind of late shift and the school is otherwise kosher, good luck.

I think they are good hours, especially if you aren't a morning person. Many hagwons have 2:00 - 10:00.

If your friends are on similar schedules, or if you work with really cool people you want to hang out with after work, then it's great. If your friends are on day schedules get used to spending your weekdays alone. But it's still good, imo. You can do whatever you want during the day, party it up at night (if you want) and never use an alarm clock. Lord I miss the evening schedule. If it wasn't for the insanity of hagwon world, I would have never left it.

2 3 or 4 to 8 9 or 10 are standard hogwon hours.

I like it.

done it, it's a good schedule as long as you have a decent dinner break in there somewhere, so say 3 classes - dinner break -- 2 more classes is quite manageable. you're only on site about 6 hours as others have said unless your boss is anal about prep time. good for those who aren't morning people like myself. also you have a lot of time in the day to do bank business, shopping etc.

I did it. Get ready to gain a lot of weight because you will be eating dinner really late. At least that was my experience.

Pretty reasonable hours.

I personally wouldn't do it, because they are middle and high school kids... and that means you'll be teaching them after public school, before their next private lessons... so they'll all be pissy and tired. Or rather, more pissy and tired than usual.

When I was in the hagwon world, I was working a 1-9...most of my friends were working a 2-9...so your shift, while ending an hour later, is a good 1-2 hours shorter than what many people work. If you are a morning person...well you'll have your whole day to get things done, but not much of a social life... if you are a night owl...and you meet up with fellow hagwoners...you'll have a pretty active social life, bar scene, drinks after work etc...
Oh and you get to sleep late... Smile

Think back to when you were in high school.

How awake would you be at your 9:00pm English class?

Plus, that has a pretty high suck factor if you factor in Friday Night Soju.

Weigh the pros and cons.

id take those hours if i were you, they sound pritty decent to me, if you get out of bed at say 10am, you will be rested and have had a lie in, give you time to go to the gym, then do shopping and clean tidy etc, then when you get home chill out for about 3 hours
