I finally arrived and I don't have to go to work until Monday. I don't have an ARC card yet (this seems to be a factor in some plans?) My goal is to get a phone today or tomorrow. Any help? |

Wait until you get your ARC and you can get a new, nice phone w/ a monthly plan for as little as 1000w for the phone...certainly not more than 100,000. Used "old" phones are cheap but card service is expensive and a hassle iMHO. For the time being, if you want to call home just get a international phone card and use a public telephone. Do you have a bank acct yet? You might be Ok at LG w/ just your bank book and a passport. Not 100% sure, though. Maybe some others here can help. |

Go to the Seoul Global Center (near city hall). There you can buy a new phone (like 60,000 won) and get a regular phone plan (not a prepaid plan). Here's the directions on how to get to the SGC:

I think you may need your ARC and bank book to get a phone. But, call them to confirm. |
