It depends on the school you get assigned to and what is available in the neighborhood you will be in.
It can vary from a shoebox in a walkup building to an officetel with loft.

| Do you know if they tell you in the contract where your apt will be or if you have to wait until you get to Korea to find out? |

If you are already in Korea, there is the chance that you can preview or arrange to view the housing before the job begins, but still after signing the contract and being assigned to a specific school. Otherwise, you can arrange independent housing in advance and just take the stipend.
If you are abroad, you will have to wait until AFTER orientation to get housing details.... |
