or sexual harrassment of students or maybe even for taking a student home for a lunch-time quickie, is that someone justified in slamming that school in a post?

Reading posts like that are kind of fascinating in a twisted kind of way. Kind of like slowing down on the highway to take a look at a wreck.

This seems a bit out of left field.

They would be entertaining if the poster explained. "I was fired for doing body shots off of Private Kim during Elementary English 102, THEY SUCK FOR FIRING ME FOR THAT!!". However posters never ever mention that they were actually fired if they can actually help it. And if they were fired it's ALWAYS totally 100% unjustifiable in their post.

So to answer your question, if a poster explained the entire reason behind their firing, then let them bitch all they want. Let the audience decide. If they don't explain why they were fired then it does the establishment that employed them a disservice. It might make the school look bad when in fact it was a fully justifiable firing.

I think you've mentioned several justifiable firings at your school, right? And there's a thread a little bit below with someone bitching about being fired from the military intel school without really explaining much of what goes on and why people get fired there. Maybe the same school? =)

Is it a case of regular firings because their hiring process doesn't give them suitable teachers (and maybe conditions don't attract the best candidates?) or does the job make people go crazy? Or they end up with a lot of whack jobs by sheer bad luck? I've never worked anywhere with a lot of teachers in Korea, so I've missed most of the crazy (/interesting) foreigners here.

It's trolling. Drinking beer in a little boat for a few hours. Doesn't have to make sense. Watching the lines in the water, zzzzzzzzzzz.

You're a pretty sharp cookie, Hyeon Een. Very Happy I was expecting that thread to be deleted, so I made a new thread. However, it is still up so this one is superfluous.

In a belated effort to give it meaning I'll say this: I do think it's unfair to post that you've been fired and not give the details. I entirely agree with this:

Now I'll go address that other thread.

I do know of one incident where a person was justifiably fired (inept, bad personality) then came back to this forum ... though about year after the firing ... and mouth off saying how bad the school is, how evil the director is and warning everyone to stay away from the school

not sure if they explain to her why they fired her ... she didnt go into detail about the firing, just rumbled off about how bad the school is

funny thing is, if anyone would have read her 1st post (before she edited it 3 times) and read her other post, you could probably guess why she was fired

... well, basically just wanted to say that having a forum like this is invaluable; provides great information and warning ... but they come with another warning: dont believe everything you read

That's not trolling. it's trawling.

Wrong! Wink Trolling makes use of 'hook & line'. Trawling makes use of a net. Cool

If someone is fired for driving while drunk, banging down the door of a co-teacher at 2am (piss drunk), showing up to class drunk...

Would that person come on the board and defend the school for being a great place to work?

Strangly, I guess that could potentially happen.

Wouldn't *that* be a strange situation?
