Haha, imagine surviving that one and explaining it to your grandkids.

"Kids, Grampa tried to kill himself because Costco wanted to sell US beef. Always stand up for your beliefs."

They would never say it that way. They would couch it in terms that would perpetuate the hate they have for the US: "Kids, Grandpa died because the US killed him. If it wasn't for the US, Grandpa would be alive today."

It's not making international headlines so no one cares. And it's already old news (someone mentioned the Saigon monk). Hence, it's neither original nor purposeful. The purposelessness I can excuse but the lack of originality is unforgiveable.

A complete waste of 5 seconds of my reading time.

To the next Korean aspiring self-immolator, make it a little more interesting, like having two trucks pull either end of your body---like what the Korean demonstrators did to that little pig.

Self-immolation is puerile, self-indulgent, ineffective and just plain dumb.

Especially with Korean gas prices.

It's the inevitable outcome of holding a cycling race in Mexico Laughing

Actually, I was thinking about taking down the avatar as a dude died in this accident. Maybe a bit insensitive to have his moment of expiration plastered on a forum. Then again I've seen an avatar of the Lindenberg disaster, but that was yonks ago?

Wadda you reckon?
