Esett, and Korean:

You're both probably right.

I was overreacting maybe a bit, but really it's how I argue. Righteous indignation occupies time, and usually leads to interesting talks.

I did see your post with the (new) added on, and was like, “This guy is either a turd, or sorta hilarious.” It wasn’t just your opinion, it was high, but I think the problem might have been that perhaps it was higher than somebody would want to approach and ask about a lower price.

Eh, no big deal, I still will use it if I don’t sell it. And then when I peace out in two years I can price it at 50 bucks, and still have spliff say “50… that’s worth 10 at most.” and the cycle will repeat itself.

2 400gb HDs @$80 ea. = 160
4g DDR2 mem @20 ea. = 80
nvidia 9600 = 140
Core Duo 2.2 = 125
MSI plat MB = 130
450w p sup = 17
19" ACER lcd mon = 150 (I think thats generous - couldn't find starview)
dvd burner = 22
3 fans @ 2 ea = 6
gen. keyboard = 4
gen. speakers = 4

Cost new = $838

Most people aren't going to care about Windows or your other software as they'll likely already have their own, or access to a copy of Windows somewhere.
Sorry you got ripped off but you shouldn't make false claims about this being a high-end system.

I recently finished building a computer this week:

- E8400 $140
- EVGA 780i motherboard $215
- Tuniq Tower $50
- 4 gigs Crucial Ballistix Tracer memory $120
- 620w Corsair power supply $125
- Antec Sonata III case $60
- 2x 8800 GTS 512mb video cards in SLI $360
- 3 optical drives (2x lite-on 20x DVD burners w/ lightscribe, 1x HD-DVD ROM) $60
- Western Digital 640mb harddrive $95
- Logitech G15 keyboard $50
- Logitech G9 gaming mouse $30

This came out to $1305 and each part is fairly highly rated. I would consider this to be a good deal for this computer as I used slickdeals.net to get a lot of the parts.

Although I don't think OP is a troll, asking $1300 for his computer seems kind of overpriced.

slickdeals.net explained a deal with either Amazon or Buy.com that involved a large rebate. I can't find my particular deal right now, but here is a similar deal at $40:

http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=5779&t=690038

Like I said, all the parts I got were very good deals since I was slickdealing. I build a new computer every couple of months or so (it's a hobby of mine), so I don't mind stockpiling parts everytime a good deal comes by.

New deal for the G9 at $32.11 after rebate and with Google checkout:

I dunno if they ship to Korea. You may have a relative buy it for you and ship it.

OP, you gotta realize this is Daveseslcafe.

Even on a good day with a strong original post, you're still gonna get beat down by a bunch of people. You, on the other hand, innocently reached for the stars on the selling price and they ate you alive.

It's futile for me to say "come on guys, give the kid a break." Smile

For what it's worth, I don't think the OP is a troll, and I think 1 of the 3 following things happened:

1) He realized he bought an overpriced computer (as many people do by mistake) and tried to unload it as soon as possible.

2) He didn't realize he could come onto Dave's and hassle another computer-seller for bargain basement prices. Wink

3) He really does want an Xbox and doesn't want to lose his shirt on a small mistake.

Isak, I highly suggest that you take a loss on this one. Resistance is futile. You're in Asia and computers get older every day. These guys on Dave's won't be cutting you any slack; they're pros that watch these boards and they'll hold out until they get some guy with the deal they want. They'll work you to the bone and make you crumble.

Also, OP, you're right, some of these guys just want to cause you grief. Early in this thread people warned you not to list the parts and you got suckered into doing it. As soon as you did, they sicked the hounds on you.

Conclusion: Start selling this on another site's forum, or drop the price for the vultures to peck at. Given your distance to Seoul, I think a price of 700,000 is an acceptable price to sell this for.

You made a mistake on the purchase, not on purpose. You wanted an xbox, so best be selling the PC and getting your xbox. You will have a lot more fun than dealing with this forum on Dave's.

Good luck OP, and welcome to the buy/sell/trade forum.

Like I said Spliff,

Why are you in Korea? You should be a junk dealer. Actually, maybe you could work with those cardboard collectors I see everywhere. Put that great eye of yours to good use evaluating the value of recycled goods. Make a difference.

Spliff 2010: What? You are charging way to much for those Chilsung cans. They are worth 10 Won at most. The quality doesn't even compare to the Coke Black cans. Hm... Now those HiFiber bottles... those look nice.

If only he would make the career change from troll to recycler.

I'll wade through the pages of insults in a bit. But, for now, OP, your deal is not high end. Let me give you an example. Recently, I went to Yongsan (2 weeks ago) and bought PC components in order to build my friend a low-level high end PC. This is what I got and these are the prices:

Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.4ghz
Asus Motherboard (forgot the model number)
Xenon 8800GT
2 gigs of DDR2 ram
7200 RPM drive
Case
Power Supply, etc.
Zalman cooler

Total Price, brand new, was $900. The computer I built for him crushes your PC. So yes, your asking price for a "used" PC is too high considering the specs. You'll be lucky to get 700,000WON for everything (including monitor).
