Do your co-teachers walk to class at a 'normal' speed?
If they went any slower they'd be going backwards.

When the bell rings, my co-teachers turn into the slowest people on earth. Almost without exception, they make a three-toed sloth look like the 'roadrunner' in comparison.

I understand why they are not exactly keen to walk into a class of 38 hormonally-charged middle school boys who are beating on each other, walking on their desks, have broken at least one window (it seems) and ripped a classroom door out of it's channel during the last break. Wink

How fast do your co-teachers move?

The one who leads me to the classroom and then immediately leaves walks at a normal speed. Everyone else rocks the Trudge of Doom on the way to class.

All my teachers walk at a normal speed, but they don't actually head to class until at least 5 minutes after the official start of lesson time.
Classes never start on time & it irritates the hell out of me. Evil or Very Mad

LOL... an incentive.

"The sooner I get there, the sooner can leave." Cool I love it!

Their entire life seems to flash before their eyes as they proceed dogfarkedly slow to class. As fast as a mortgage payment.

In the elementary school I teach at, my co-teachers beat me to class and stay there between classes. It might have something to do with them using the classroom computers and not having a desk in the Jondam office, but maybe not Smile

In my high school, teachers leave their offices 1 minute after the bell rings. They get to their classes probably about 3 minutes late.

Yes of course. I share the jondam office with the two science teachers. The music and English teachers use their classrooms. My desk is right under the aircon Smile

The boys in my co-teacher's homeroom class pulled every single door off of the lockers in the classroom during their lunch time.

Usually by the time we get to the classroom, a group of smart kids has locked all the other kids out of the classroom from the inside. That kills another couple of minutes while we wait for them to open it.

I actually think that the slow walking has something to do with this. They see us very very slowly approaching, (like one of those nightmares where you're being chased by something horrible and for some reason you can't run) and hammer on the doors to be let in before we get there. No idea what happens if they don't do it in time. Maybe they all just disappear.....or fail the year. Smile

Uhh, korean students don't fail. Another problem with the public schools here.

My co-teachers usually arrive 3-5 minutes late. On good days I get there early/on time and try to settle the kids down. On bad days I just wait till my CT shows up and then start.

Of course occasionally I'll have a CT show up 10+ minutes late, or sometimes not at all. That's always a bucket full of fun.

Bell rings...

Teacher finishes typing her email, or her conversation, or what ever.

Take a long drink of coffee.

Sigh

Pick up the books

Look around if you missed anything

Walk slowly out, looking for any postings on the walls that require your attention.

Stroll leasurly down the hall, having a conversation.

Stand outside the class for a moment, finishing the conversation.

Walk into class 5 minutes late.

I don't get out of my chair in the office until my co-teacher does. I sit here, with all my stuff ready, waiting.
