| How much of a difference will I notice? I'm more or less being forced to upgrade to 100Mbit this weekend. |

With ample bandwidth, you can download your torrent in the background and play your favorite mmorpg with no problems.
I had the 10 Mbit for 30,000 won/month from KT and it was well worth the 10,000 won extra for the 100 Mbit. Don't expect 100 Mbit speed outside of Korea, although you'll still be the envy of most torrent seeders. |

I can't wait to get to Korea to experience all that bandwidth goodness! What are the usual upload speeds? Don't tell me it's the same as the download speed! |

Thank goodness you can get 500 gig HDDs for under 100k. Fill your case full of them (but don't forget an extra fan or 2.) They do create a lot of heat.
It gets better when I am just seeding and not downloading at the same time.
(seeding at 2000k and uploading at 1000k.

I wish I had 100mbit. Seeding stuff at 2+MB/s for 40k won a month is cheap as hell.
A seedbox is going to cost a lot more than that and chances are you will be capped on monthly bandwidth or speed.
If you do not download/upload much, 100mbit isn't really any different. |

The guy just finished installing it and it's definitely sped up the average 800 thousand animated GIF Korean webpage.
I haven't tried any torrents yet, I can't think of anything to download.
I didn't know 500gig HDs were so cheap now. I might just pick up one. |

I couldn't get one here until very recently. I mentioned I wanted one when I signed up and it was unavailable in my building at the time so they set me up with 10Mbit. Then as soon as it was available they let me know and asked to come over to set it up. |

I've been using 100 Mbit internet here since day one. Apparently the sustained speed is around 50 to 60 Mbit for Rapidshare servers, Bittorrent peaks around 10 Mbit but more usual are 10 to 20 Mbit per torrent, and upstream around 20 Mbit sustained.
In real world figures, I get to my 5-day 50 Gigabyte Rapidshare limit within 4 to 5 hours  Good thing that I have 6 accounts then.
Now filling up 500 GB hard drive number 12, 11 of them bought in the past 3 months...
Don't really need any other reason to keep staying in Korea  |
