I'm getting married next April and want to start looking at places for a honeymoon that same month. So where's a good place to go? Good beach, not sleazy, romantic, nice food, relaxing etc etc. We're looking to get out of Korea. Thanks for any information/recommendations.

Boracay is the place for honeymooners, although I didn't enjoy my time there (expensive, boring, no culture, really bad food), maybe you will. It definately has a romantic feeling to it and you can get an all inclusive package for a week around 700,000-900,000.

Check out Lorenzo Villa http://www.agoda.com/asia/philippines/boracay/lorenzo_villa_resort.html. Nice place, friendly staff, romantic setting, quiet.

I love the "Here's a place that sounds cool. I hated it, btw." responses. They give me something interesting to think about.

Boracay (disadvantage is that you are stuck on a small island).
http://www.boracay.com

Alona Beach (Panglao and Bohol islands)
http://www.bohol.ph

Cebu (Mactan resorts) if you are running on a 4-day honeymoon trip.
google is your friend - too many sites to list

Palawan - El Nido
http://www.palawan.com/resort_details.php?resort_id=22

Camiguin - Ardent Resort and hot springs
http://www.islandcamiguin.com/

Some of the quiet beaches on Phuket (away from Patong) and Krabi are also high on the list.

Just browse back through this forum and you will find a goldmine of great information, places, prices, do's, don'ts, contact numbers and websites.

In April, coming from Seoul, you can look at just about any place from Hong Kong in the north, south to the equator and east to Micronesia. You are pretty much assured of great weather and uncrowded beaches.

How about Fiji? I've never been, but one of my former roommates used to work there and loved every minute of it. And there's just something about it that seems perfectly "honeymoon romantic" to me . . .

Tough (and expensive) to get there from here. You would probably have to fly to NZ first and transfer from there.

I STAND CORRECTED. You can get flights to Nadi, Fiji (NAN) from around 2.5 mil per person (return) and the routing is through Tokyo.

Still a bit steeper than ~700k to the Philippines, Thailand, Micronesia, Malaysia, Singapore, or Indonesia.

Stay away from Hawaii these days. They've been having volcano smoke problems causing acid rain and dingy smells.

One fab place is Palmino? Palamo? in Goa, India. (It's in the southern part). It's so beautiful, quiet, serene but there's still a party scene if you want something to do. Great outdoor restaurants that are cheap and serve the catch of the day. Plus it's closer to the larger beaches where there's shopping, ect.

Wonderful place.

Any island around the Great Barrier Reef would be paradise. Gorgeous beaches, loads of activities, plenty of options.

I just did a quick search for flights to Fiji, and found that Korean Air flies direct and for just over 800,000 won, plus some tax.
