I'll start:
1. protests against the racist depiction of foreigners in the Korean media.
2. protests against the torture of dogs to make them more delicious.
3. protests against the conditions endured by animals in Korean zoos.
4. protests against excessive noise pollution |

Animal rights organizations raise awareness and do their best to combat these problems. I'm not sure if they actually demonstrate, but it's not as if these aren't important issues to some people in Korea. |

5. Famine going on in North Korea, LMB is playing politics with the issue (ROK will will send food IF Kim Jong Il embarrasses himself by asking for it) while people die.
6. Government sanctioned devaluation of the won to discourage Koreans from traveling abroad, and to help LG, Samsung, etc. export things cheaply.
7. Educational system that turns kids into zombies. |

Three million dogs tortured each summer. Never seen (or heard of) a single protest. That speaks volumes about this country. Where is the mass outrage that we (so superficially) see over US beef. Where's this country's moral compass or sense of proportion? It's very interesting to see what causes outrage in Korea, and what does not. |

My friend walked past an anti dog eating protest in Seoul. So I suppose you will see that. |

Hundreds of thousands have taken to the streets protesting the importation of American beef. How many were at the anti-dog meat protest your friend passed? |

*"We're bored of Kimchi" protest
*Let's move the country around to the other side or Russia so we don't have a problem with the Dust anymore.
*Let's keep all the native teachers here who have nil idea how to teach and are a pain in the ass.
*Anti-soju protest. |

Apparently it's a protest "you will never see". I'm point out that you obviously can see it. The scale is not relevant unless the question is what issue do Koreans care more about.
I think you will find I think Koreans protesting cheaper meat is stupid. No arguments there. |

If the Koreans want to eat dog, then fine. 700 millions Hindus are appaled every time we eat beef. The same with Muslims and Jews in regards to pork.
What's gets me is that the portests against U.S. beef are supposedly done because of the public's safety concerns.
Safety concerns? Dog meat is not regulated here in Korea? Korean beef has also scored lower compared to American beef in regards to international standards for BSE prevention.
F-ing hypocrites! |

Do you understand the difference between eating dog because it's your culture , and eating it because it's taboo and you think it'll gain you some "cool" points ? This board can't go a day without people come on here smugly to inform us how they like to eat dog. Ok...so what do they want ? A badge ? Who hasn't eaten dog in Korea ....it's not that it's hard to find or that it requires any skills other than having teeth and apathy. congratulations on those two amazing feats... you can chew and not care. My hero.
You know what bothers me more than eating dog ? All the hundreds of dogs everywhere kept on tiny short leashes so that they can barely stand up. That's torture of the most unbearable kind. When I see those dogs I prey the day they see their end comes as soon as possible. Then you heroes can go in and eat your delicious dogs till it comes out your ears for all I care. |

Personally, I cringe almost every time I read a post from Spliff. When I saw that he had posted on this thread I knew that his post would be obnoxious even before I read it. His avator suits him perfectly. |
