Group A:

Portugal
Turkey

Group B

Germany
Poland

Group C

France
Netherlands (I think Italy going out might be the First Round shock)

Group D

Spain
Russia

Quarter Finals

Portugal v Poland
Germany v Turkey
France v Russia
Spain v Netherlands

Semi Finals

Portugal v Germany
France v Spain

Final

Portugal v France

Winner

Portugal

I had 20 on Portugal at 7-to-1.

All the teams in group A apart from Germany look crap, but Poland seemed the least worst to me, so I chose them to qualify in 2nd place

Today sees France v Romania and Italy v Netherlands - that's total jerking off material!

I'm still gonna go with the Dutch.

Personally I hope Portugal get nowhere because if Ronaldo wins the Euro Cup as well he'll think he's so amazing that he won't play for anyone next season. He'll just buy a gold throne, suspend it 1 mile up in the air and we can all adore him from yonder. (nobhead)

Watching the Netherlands Italy game right now. The Dutch have just gone one up, Van Nistelrooy with a (possibly offside) tap-in. Italy look really careless at the back, it's not like two years ago when Lippi was in charge.

Half time and it's 2-0. Still can't see the Italians turning this around, though. Mind, having seen France and Romania before, Italy shouldn't be worried by one bad game.

Finished 3-0 Netherlands. Italy as bad as they were four years ago.

why don't they use instant replay in soccer for offsides? i mean, continue the play until a stoppage and then consult the replay... seems like a pretty simple way to put all the 'he was offside' crybabies to bed...

With the English out, I only have one despised team in the tourney..

I'm all about A.B.T.I. (Anybody but the Italians)!!

Would like to see France take it though... even though their first game wasn't too hot-shit, with the Italian result against the Dutch, they're very much still alive...

OUCH!!!

looks like the dutch are playing well again, good for them..

The Azzurri looked helpless without cannavaro and maldini. thye back is not as strong as its famous for!

lets hope they get back into next game..

The replays argument I'll leave for another day, but in this case a defender went out of play to get treatment for a slight injury whilst the ball was still in play. Because the ref didn't stop play for the injury (unless it's serious, he doesn't have to) this was what caused the offside controversy. A player who leaves the pitch during play without authorisation from the referee still counts as in play, therefore Van Nistelrooy only needed to be further away from the Italian keeper to stay onside.

Anyway, today Spain tore Russia apart 4-1, David Villa with a hat-trick. In contrast to France and Italy, Spain's midfield dominated this game. However, their defence isn't up to the same standard.

For what it is worth......

The Italians will bounce back and make the quarters at least
The Spanish will choke in the finals like every Spanish team before them has done.
I lost money on Portugal 4 years ago so I hope they don't win.
The Dutch have class but there is no point playing your best football now.
The Germans are just as boring as always
The rest are all unpredictable or lack talent except................

The Czech Republic - my tip

Anyone know where I can get a bet on?
