Does anyone have any good ideas/ activities for teaching middle school first graders past simple tense?
I've had a look in the cookbook but don't know where to start!
Any help appreciated! |

Well I'll be the first to chime up/in..... (seems sometimes that this board has soooo much time to discuss all the jocular stuff but little for really needed lesson help!)
Take a look on our community at the thread "Lessons in a Can" #46. cool whole class/pairs bingo game for practicing the past tense. Full description there.

I'm at #80. Full lessons described with materials, downloads etc.....
You also might just want to see the other lesson there -- Mr. X's Amazing yesterday. Cool presentation with a handout. Students cut out the cartoon pictures and write up a mini book describing Mr. X's day. ...do a search on the community.
But the bingo game can be modified for any tense and target language....take a look.
