Well...
I re-installed the blue internet, degaussed my Firewire, installed 2 40-pound magnets on either side of the hard disks and cleaned my monitor. Windows is now asking for an original Red Hat CD, a cup of tea and a scone. <- j/k about the tea and scone!
Now, I put the Pink Hat (I accidentally washed it with some bleach!) CD into the hard drive (a bugger to open!) and a strange whirring noise started, prompting me to clean the fans out. Things got better right away and Windows got through post, but froze at the RAM driver installation.
This is when I went insane and cried. Then I called my computer whiz buddy, who made a CD for me. He slipstreamed a few things together and gave me a copy of What he called "SAM, Open Windows for Suse."
Booted from the mouse, threw the reset lever and now all is well...I am booted into SOWS.
Thanks for all you great advice. This forum is the best!
I tell you one thing...if this computer dies again, I am going to kill mys |

| That's great news. But a word or warning: until you're out of the danger zone (which could be up to a week with this kind of issue), keep a close eye on your speakers. |

LOL... you guys didn't know that most of the CPU's are manufactured in Taiwan and set to GMT+8? Korea is GMT+9, so your CPU is overclocked by 12.5% (roughly 1 hour in the metric system, 0.475 stones for you UK guys), leading to all sorts of hardware problems. Just reset your BIOS time to Korean time and everything will be normal.
Don't use the computer during Happy Hour! |
