I'm wondering if I have to pay an airport tax when I fly to Fukuoka from Incheon and back.

It seems to me, from looking at my ticket and from what the agent told me, that I already paid the airport tax. I bought my ticket at Korean Air's office at City Air Terminal.

I don't want to get double whammied. If I already paid my airport tax, is that only for Incheon airport? If so, I guess I would have to pay an airport tax in Fukuoka before flying back here. If I have to pay an airport tax in Fukuoka, I would have to change some Won into Yen.

The problem is that the amount I paid is less than the total amount shown on my e-ticket. There's a note near the bottom of the e-ticket saying that the fare shown above is the published fare and may differ from the actual fare paid and to please refer to receipt to see the actual paid fare in detail

Is everything already paid? Everything including the airport tax? I hope so. I'm sure many of you have experience with this. That is tickets bought directly from Korean Air. It seems to me that I didn't have to pay an airport tax when I did an E2 visa run over 3 years ago. Can't quite recall though.

What's the deal?

when ever I have bought a ticket the tax is calculated when I bought the ticket. it has never come up after the ticket has been purchased.

foreigners don't pay a departure/airport tax in Korea and the one for Japan is included in your ticket.

Because you are NOT staying overnight in Japan you would actually qualify for a refund of the Japanese airport tax 10k won but you would have to get it from Korean air when you return home.

That clears things up. I don't have to pay anything more.

I see. Foreigners don't pay it, but they do in Japan. Now that I think of it, there was only 9,400 tax on top of the ticket and fuel surcharge. That was the Japan tax.

I knew that I can get a refund on the 9,400.
