I am thinking about getting some moles/freckles removed, as I've heard that it's quite cheap to get them lasered off. But, am not totally sure about where/how etc. Anyone got them done? is there any danger of like the mole/feckle being removed, but you can still get cancer? Does it hurt? Leave a big scar? I had one cut off my stomach about 3 years ago, and it left a big scar. Granted it was for a cancer test, but it still looks ugly. Obviously, I wouldn't get it done if it would leave noticeable scars. Anyone have a clue? half a clue?

Apujeong is the place to go for laser clinics. I was thinking about going there to continue laser treatment on my tattoo, but decided I'll wait until I get back to the UK. It HURTS, a LOT!

Not that it was an option, but I have a treasure trail scar form the top of my stomach to the buried treasure.

Scars are cool, unless they are on your grill

How deep is it buried? I hear that can happen to some boys during puberty.

Any luck on this? I have a wicked mole on my back that I need to get checked out/gouged off and would like to do it before it goes malignant.

Hopefully I could get another cool scar to go along with it but I would settle for removal.

I've had a number of skintags removed by a dermatologist; these tags appeared overnight (I kid you not) and I became somewhat alarmed at the speed with which the blighters made themselves at home on my skin.

The doctor was very gentle, gave me some freezing on each location, and lasered them off double quick.

Didn't cost me a single won, as he is the brother to the husband of one of my students; what can I say??? She simply dragged me to his office one day when I mentioned the skintags. Sort of the typical Korean thing to do: drag 'em off without an appointment and without the chance to get yourself worked into a state.

Same with the dentist: I mentioned that I had a cavity starting and before I knew it, I had been hauled to the dentist (husband of yet another student) and the deed was done. No cost; one of the perks of being a teacher.

And, yes, no scars from the 'operation.'

Moles, freckles, etc, can turn cancerous. have you never heard of melanoma? the deadliest form of skin cancer? Thats cancerous/malignant moles or freckles.

You're supposed to check them for: regularity of the borders, a colour change - going from brown to black, or having black spots, and increasing in size, as well as bleeding, or somethign strange. Have a search for melanoma. It's a pretty serious thing. In NZ we all know about it, as the sun is very strong there. Like in the middle of summer, a 12 minute burn time is normal.

Ok - if someone can give me the korean word for "dermatologist" which is what i think we need, I'll do some recon.

Seoul University National Hospital and Asan Hospital ... they have some of the worlds leading Dermatologists dealing specifically with such conditions and desires as noted here. They are both tertiary teaching institutions and have more than sufficient resources for non-Korean speaking individuals. They both have web sites with links to "international clinics" at their facilities. Simply look them up on the web and contact them - the I.C. part of their services, well, are usually just English speaking nurses and a solid percentage of Physicians who can make the whole process easier. Both facilities are well published in the literature and research arenas in the field.
