I'm pretty sure this was brought up before, but it kinda died.
I miss playing basketball and the kids here don't know how to set picks haha. Anyone want to get a lil 4 on 4 games going once in a while?
Also, I'm looking for a gym...I don't need anything special just a complete weight room and a locker. I live in Jung Ja dong, but I don't see any around me so I'm researching the neighboring station stops. Any info will be helpful~
Thank you. |

There's a decent gym near Jukjeon station that's 180,000 if you sign up for 3 months. You get a discount if paying by cash and another percentage off when/if you resign when your membership is up.
The lockers are only for your shoes, but they provide clothes to wear, provided you're not too big.
No basketball courts around here. I'd be interested in playing on the weekends if something gets going. |

I would, but I'm no good at basketball. Actually, come to think of it, I don't live in Bundang |

There are courts scattered all along the Tancheon river walk where you can play. I don't know about indoor courts. There is a weird kind of croquet/putt-putt game on the river walk around Sunae too. |

There's a nice a$$ gym that my coworker goes to that's about a 10 minute walk from Migum station. I just saw it today. It's huge with a lot of new equipment. Believe it or not, it's only 40,000 won a month. And if you sign up for three months, you get a little discount. There has to be a catch. I belonged to a crappy little gym in Cheongju, and I must have paid about 60,000. I'll be signing up tomorrow. If you want more details, just send me a P.M.
As far as basketball, can't help you there. I can't stand the sport. |

The only basketball court I've seen is south of Migeum, on the Tancheon river about a 7 minute walk from Miguem station towards Ori.
Exit the subway, walk along the main road away from Migeum station, and when you get to the bridge over the river you should see it on your right below. |

Ditto on courts along the river walk....especially at the Sunae portion.
When you see the courts in Sunae, exit and go up to street level (nearest Lotte).
Cross the street towards Lotte Dept. Store.
Look around for "WSpa" ( W 스파)
It is literally between the river/river road and the small road/Lotte Dept....I just can't recall the name of the building it's under.
But, it's a 1-2 min. walk from Sunae Mcdonald's backdoor.
It's a co-ed Gym, with an attached jimjillbang (1/2 coed)(sauna/spa/showers/massage/massage chairs/beds, etc...)
It's listed at 120,000 per mo. (probably discounts for longer memberships), but my friend got in for 100,000 per mo. and really likes it there. One downside is, not many "hottie" sightings in the gym |

i used to live in Jungja. Those were the days - Bundang is so neat and clean compared to Seoul. There are basketball courts along the river (Tanchawn) and ive seen foreigners play with koreans there.
Gyms - there are quite a few and it depends where in Jungja you live (on the Sunae or Migum side). I lived between jungja and megum. There was a great gym in the "Doosan weve" building. Very spacious and clean, but really a gym is what you make of it most of the time.
There are also a few social groups on Facebook so check them out.
Good luck. |
