hey this is to the lads from belfast, which part to you recommend staying in while i'min Jordanstown, bearing in mind i'm a catholic (whose father's van got bombed a few years ago in belfast, on the shore road) and i would rather hang around with ian paisley than live in the holylands
cheers for the help |
i assume ur goin to ulster uni, just stay in monkstown or jtown itself, plenty of student accom going round there and a decent enough nightlife during term time, if drinking plenty and oogiling female students is your thing, otherwise live round the student area of queens, decent nightlife and a nice enough area |
lisburn road aint bad, the further away from the village the better. probably up past tescos. |

yeah going to Jordanstown, not too fussed about the nightlife cos it's for my masters, and i want a decent grade etc... i don't drink anyway and i usually just go out with the lads from my rugby team, and they won't be there to join me, i was thinking about joining uuj's team but games are played on wednesdays and i only have clas on mon-tues-weds so it won't be possible, and i have also played against uuj in the league, and they play aginst my old team, i don't know how i would feel about playing against the team i captained for 2 years, i might get nailed to a cross or something!!!
oogling women is also out of the agenda, my g.f is going to be doing the same course as me, i mean i can look, but then again so can she...but she knows she can't get anyone better than this .
i have been to Belfast quite a few times, i think i would like to be closer to the city centre, just for convenience sake, being close to cinemas, shops, etc. |

West Belfast. Then Glengormley. Then Queens area.
Carryduff, eh? Posh. |
haha the part of carryduff im from aint posh.
oh ive got a mate up in glengormley, behind the mc donalds lol. where did you drink in belfast? |
Mostly Laverys..... ......I know. I probably went to Laverys at least once a week for about 12 years. Not something I'm proud of.
Average night out in Belfast...... Laverys or Empire until about 12 then down to somewhere like Skibunny for all-night drinking and stimulants. Back to someones flat for the last few drinks at dawn. Maybe call the beer and vodka-delivery taxi if booze ran out. |

lol i lived in laverys last year. really enjoyed it. used to go to the empire on thursday nights for blues music. aw i miss auntie annies, but not a big fan of ski bunny. found it to be too alternative for my taste.
i used to go to queens union on a friday night, maybe katy daly's, whites and maybe even the venue on saturdays.
lol what taxi service was this? damnit if only id known. saved me from goin to the hatfield |
