I have booked a return flight Incheon to Phuket for August.
It's 930,000 Won (inclusive) for Asiana.

A tad expensive.

The thing is, the same flights going the other way cost $600 (inclusive) from a Travel Agent in Phuket (and a hell of a lot easier to deal with).

So, can I book my flight with a Thai Travel Agent ?
I think there used to be some crappy rule against this, but my Korean Travel Agent told me he could book tickets for me when I'm in Thailand so I dunno?

I could save a lot of money if this is poss.

Answer my question and I'll tell you a joke.

What do you call a fish with no eyes?

I'm not 100% certain, but I don't think you can.

Here is my reasoning as to why:

1. When I flew to Korea from Canada my hogwon had to book my one way ticket from Canada to Korea through a Canadian travel agent, they couldn't do it through a Korean travel agent since I wasn't departing from Korea. This would lead me to believe that the source of the ticket has to be domestic.

2. I tried to book a ticket from Seoul to Tokyo through a Canadian travel agent, she said it wasn't possible.

This is all probably of little help, but I'm bored as f**k at the moment and it's the best I know from my experiences.

yeah...sorry, but it can't be done. flights originating from korea are usually marked up higher because of the peak/high season. i had the same problem last winter. i saw flights round trip from the states to korea for almost half as much as ones originating in korea.

i thought maybe i could book the flight then change the dates (swap them around) and pay the fee, but it seems the airlines are too clever!!

As far as I know, you can not do this, and I have tried.

But, it can be worth it, if you are going to travel a longer distance to book a flight to Bangkok (or another cheap travel location). Pick up a ticket you paid for there (bu internet) or take a day and shop for one there to another location.
