Number of women needing help for alchohol abuse in Korea given as 550,000 and that means there are more. The figure is probably only the tip of the iceberg.
Reasons cited are conflicts with inlaws, and infidelity. |

There is no alcohol abuse in Korea, sillly. Abuse infers there is a norm where people aren't using alcohol to excess or in self-destructive ways. That doesn't exist here. |

I must know all of the tee-totallers in Korea then. Except for two female friends that will have half a glass of beer to be social. |

In my experience, Korean women aren't big drinkers. The men, on the other hand,.... |

Man if you go to ayn club area these days you see so many young girls taking a rest together in their cups... They need help some Great Noble Lord Should Bust up these horrible dens with a Hatchet and break the dregs that swamp these poor bunnies trapped in pathos of pharmacology I would elect myself Being thee Elect and Popeish Holy Rightful Master by Default in Corea seeing as how so many bad Teachers here exude the stench of beer sweat begotten from their unholy tumblers with sacks of vino.
Corea is on a decay pattern wherein drinking and smoking are acceptable ways to relax during university - I've lost count on how many cute university girls have giggly accused each other in groups of liking to drink beer too much - and soju as well. What this Country needs is a Good Cultural Crushing from some Deep South Baptist Ministers...

But I doubt they will come to teach here seeing as how Korea refuses everyone but young cuttiess at their populous Hawkones. |

You know how Mr. Pizza has that slogan"for the women"? (or however they market toward women).
When women go to Mr. Pizza, they have pizza without booze. Wheras men go to tradtional Korean restaurants (sam gyup sal, galbi, etc) and pound soju.
So I think women traditionally drink less booze. But. I teach Uni students. The younger women drink, and they talk about drinking. To be honest, I think every woman in my department gets loaded (I went on membership training with them, which is them getting drunk at a resort at the start of the semester), except for some old returning students (in their early 30s).
One vocab note. They always say "I will drink alcohol" and I try to get them to say "We'll have some drinks" or "We'll go out" or even "We'll party". |

In our office, we tip a few road sodas near closing time and it's almost always the gals who insitgate. Sometimes when all of the guys are out of the office they'll fire up earlier. I'll come back and there'll be a can o'cerveza on the desk.
I got a bottle of white from a former student and put it in the fridge. The gals were making a plot to pound it and got in a bunch after I drank it with my buds.

I was just out drinking last weekend with an awesome girl and she was keeping up with the other people we were with. Granted we weren't trying to get completely wasted, but drinking a lot.
Then there is my ex, she says her face goes completely red if she has half a bottle of beer... |

I can see that.
Every aspect of Korea is setup and ideal for infidelity. I love how when in Korea, every single woman you meet SEEMS to be single and act like they are single...but, they aren't. |
