KOTA KINABALU: Good news for those who are planning for a family vacation in the coming months of June and August, especially if you have never visited Korea before.
Five leading tour and travel companies in the State under the Go Go consortium has recently launched their latest value-for-money summer tour package dubbed Charming Korea Summer Vacation.
Announcing this recently was Martin Foong, Managing Director of Hi Ha Holidays Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd (Hi Ha Holidays), who is also the spokesman for the Consortium.
Hi Ha Holidays is one of the five tour and travel companies in the Consortium. The other four are: Antara Travel and Tours (M) Sdn Bhd, Beautiful Holidays Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd, Tawau Travel Service Sdn Bhd, and Tay Travel Service Sdn Bhd.
This was also the second time the Consortium is promoting Korea after its successful maiden Korea tour package introduced back in 2005 during the autumn season.
This time we are providing three different packages for our customers to choose from. They are the 6 days 4 nights package, 8 days 6 nights package, and a special 6 days 4 nights Muslim Package which caters specifically for the Muslims, Martin disclosed.
And this time, the Consortium has thrown in some of the latest Korean tourist attractions, such as the Korean Wave (Hallyu) Hall which features a vast collection of information and memorabilia of Korean pop icons and the futuristic world of the Ubiquitous Dream Exhibition Hall featuring some of the funkiest computer and IT gadgets you could find on this planet.
And for those who take up the 8 days 6 nights package, they will even get to visit the romantic Jeju Island where they will get the chance to observe some of the magnificent and picturesque tourist attractions in Korea, including the mesmerizing Canola flower field.
Besides this, they will also get to visit the Nami Island, where the popular Korean mini series Winter Sonata was filmed.
Other interesting programs in the itinerary include visit to the Three Peaks of Dodam, Cheongpung Culture Centre, Herbs Land, Everland theme park, Korean Traditional Wine Museum, LAFESTA Shopping Area, the Dongdaemun and Namdaemun Market, and the Myeong-dong Fashion Street.
And great news for people who are Chelsea football fans they will get to visit the Chelsea premiums outlet in Yeoju.
As for the Muslim Package, some of the key attractions in the itinerary include visits to the Demilitarised Zone (D.M.Z), Seoul Central Mosque, and the popular shopping district of Itaewon.
Besides Muslim meals being provided for the participants, they will also get a free lunch box worth USD10 each, said Martin.
Martin also assured that the packages offered by the Consortium are truly worth the travellers money and offers they will not get elsewhere.
This was because, he explained, the Consortium has managed to bring down the cost of the tour packages with the backing of the Korea National Tourism Organisation (KNTO) and Air Asia.
Tour participants will be flown to Korea via Airbus 300 and will be staying at four-star hotels throughout the tour.
The first group of participants will depart on 1 June, 2008, he said.
