Almost blew up my kitchen a few years ago with that stuff. There was a lighter involved. What is it again? Like, 97%?

190 proof...ya it's potent. And Dear God why would you ever light it on fire? That must have been pretty sweet. The scariest part about it is how much easier it goes down than vodka, it tastes like burning water or something.

Much less. I maybe have one or two beers at home at the weekend and go out for a few with friends about once a month or every six weeks. Good for me as I used to be a frequent drinker.

I like how I don't feel like shit in the mornings now.

We weren't even drinking it all that much. We were putting it in our mouths and spitting it over an open flame. It's pretty awesome if you want to see a large fireball; it's not awesome if you inhale and it goes the other way Shocked (Luckily it didn't happen).

...and they let me teach...

Back home, I rarely drink. Here, it's a big problem for me. I'm just sooooo fukking bored. Last night, I drank two pitchers of Cass Red just for the hell of it. I would NEVER do that at home.

I'm drinking a lot less these days. I'll pick-up some nice Aussie Shiraz at home plus and we'll slowly sip on it at home. Have the odd beer here and there, but very little.

Doing lots more hiking and on-line courses on photo-editing, etc. Feeling much better!

I tend to drink less here too.

I drink about the same on weekends as I did at home but a lot less (zero) during the week.

Whereas you can function on a weekday working in an office after a bender the night before -

(one famous episode being when I drunk 3 bottles of red wine with a flatmate and half a bottle of vodka and crushed a wine glass with my hand, cutting it to the bone... starting new job with Westminster Council the next day... woke up with blood soaked t-towel wrapped around hand blood... actually dressed the wound myself with cotton wool and a makeshift bandage and made it to the job still pissed out of my head and the wound starting to bleed everywhere again.... work sent me to hospital for stitches after a c0ck and bull story about falling over in the tube station and cutting my hand on a broken bottle lol... ended up staying at the job a long time, they believed me, lord knows how as I was pissed out of my mind still...)

- teaching a 4 or 5 classes full of 36 elementary school kids hungover or still drunk is PURE HELL. So I no longer drinkin the week, I do yoga instead and it's pretty cool.

While we're telling Everclear stories, I had a friend* who drank Everclear and chocolate syrup every day for breakfast. This lasted about a year months before that and numerous other bad habits (cocaine, ritalin, pot, huffing, heroin, you name it) caught up with him and he wound up homeless and unemployed. That was years ago. last I heard from him (much more recently) he had just quit his telemarketing job in favor of dealing drugs.

I've heard Everclear is as flammable as gasoline; anyone know if that's true?

* And I use the term loosely.
