I have a receding hairline. It hasn't changed too much in 5 yearsish, and they say that's how you know you can get the one hair at a time surgery. Back in the day, the back of a man's neck would have a HORRIBLE horizontal scar where they'd steal a hair strip and chop it into plugs to give you a chiapest transfusion. In the last few years, they've made it so you can't see a scar in the back of the head and they put one hair at a time in. They call it micro hairline repair or something like that. It is "impossible" to detect if it's done by a doctor with lots of experience and they stress the words "artistic skill" when discussing such things.. To make a perfect hairline is possible, I've seen pictures, and you've seen George Clooney! Now, I know he's loaded but still, it is available to regular people too if you are willing to pay. I know a lot of people go to Thailand for these and other surgeries but that sounds like famous last words....."Yeah....I had it done in Thailand...I know it looks bad."

Seeing what passes for medical expertise here is also frightening but I have the option to shop around and go several times here. There its like a one shot deal. Supposedly, it needs to be done in stages to be flawless.

Anyway, I am posting this to see if people have not snarky and non obnoxious things to add to my search for someone to do this. I'm leaning towards doing it here. It's too expensive in America I think. Seemed like it was the same price in Thailand too which is supposed to be half the price, go figure.

I've looked into it and will probably get it done in the future. I'm not male but I've got some bald spots I've had all my life. The dr. told me it itches a bit and you've got to be careful with your scalp. They even recommend you comming in everyday and letting them shampoo your hair. The guy I saw even garunteed his work if a certian percentage of the hair didn't grow after transplantation.

Bald spots and hairline is different. The hairline thing is like seriously easy to look bad. Bald spots are much less difficult to spot a repair job on. So, you're lucky on that one. Was this person here? Are you supposed to be careful with the hair for life? I heard it heals in 10 days. I could imagine you accidentally pull them out by laying on your pillow the wrong way and then where are you!?!

Damn, its a scary thought to consider this but looking at my hairline is scary too.

My brother's had this done recently. He didn't have to go back for repeated transplants but it was all done in one afternoon. It was sore for a few days but they gave him painkillers to take. It's going to take six months for the hair to grow but overall it seems to have been a relatively simple procedure.
