I recently had a major lapse in judgement and bought a puppy. He's absolutely adorable and loving but I just can't take care of a dog just yet, I know I was a complete moron. If I can't find a home for him I'll keep him but if there is anyone looking for a pet here's an opportunity for a free one! He's going to the vet tomorrow for shots.[/img]

Foreigners who get pets during their one-year tour of Korea should be sentenced to prison. How short-sighted do you have to be for God's sake? Awwwwww...you want cute wittle pupppppppy!!!!

A year later, an abandoned dog is destined to roam the streets of Korea being chased by Boshingtang Restaurant owners.

9 times out of 10 your puppy will be put to sleep with poison injection should you be "kind enough" to take it to the shelter.

Now your looking for some other moron to do the same. The best bet, for the dog's sake, is to find a Korean to take it. Ask around in work. Ask your co-workers if they know anyone who would want a dog. If you give the dog to foreigner, it'll be in the same situation in a month.

Vastly untrue statement. There are expats a plenty that are not willing to take a pet on for longer than a year, but just as many dedicated to them for life. OP, please do not assume that we are all in your stupendously short sighted boat, and allow me to direct you towards www.animalrescuekorea.org , where someone more responsible may be willing to take your burden off you.

I had a major lapse of judgement and got my girlfriend pregnent. Anyway I'm looking for someone to take the baby off my hands cause I'm not ready for baby ownership especially in a foreign country. Any takers?
(sarcasm off)
What would you think of someone who said this?

It's not just the OP--every day there are several similar posts like this on these expat forums. "Bippy Needs a Home!" "Zoey the Cat Needs a New Place XOXO"--all couched in hypocritical "loving" words.

All these people should be summarily punched in the face for being short-sighted, self-involved, neglectful turds.

Props OP for being man/woman enough to admit that you had a lapse in judgement. All of the haters in this thread have had lapses in judgement as well, maybe not with animals (whose lives, btw, I do not value nearly as much as you people do *rolls eyes*) but I'm sure with other issues.

It sucks that you effed up, but I hope you find a good home for the little guy!!

Smile
