Footage of West Bank attack

Footage from a video camera handed out by an Israeli human rights group appears to show Jewish settlers beating up Palestinians in the West Bank.

An elderly shepherd, his wife and a nephew said they were attacked by four masked men for allowing their animals to graze near the settlement of Susia.

The rights group, B'Tselem, said the cameras were provided to enable Palestinians to get proof of attacks.

A spokesman for the Israeli police said that an investigation was under way.

So far, no-one has been arrested.

For the past year, B'Tselem has handed out video cameras to Palestinians as part of its "Shooting Back" project.

The Palestinians said they were attacked after refusing to move

The BBC has been given exclusive access to the footage of this particular attack, which happened earlier this week. The date and time on the camera footage shows that it is Sunday afternoon.

This kind of thing has been going on regularly for the 40 years of the occupation. Settlers are almost never prosecuted for their violence. I've spoken to ex IDF soldiers who complain that they would witness attacks on helpless Palestinians, but that they are not allowed to intervene. The settlers know they practically have carte blanche. It's horrendous.

People wonder why so many Palestinians have become radicalised. And yet when you are aware of what they have suffered these past 4 decades, you find yourself surprised that they are not MORE extreme.

Absolutely horrible. Occupation is an ugly business.

I think the Shooting Back project (which gives cameras to farmers so they can record attacks and have some proof for the police) is a great initiative, but nothing's going to change until the international community forces Israel to obey international law and stop building on occupied land. I think the events of the past few decades have given Israel a bit of an untouchability complex - so expect a big tantrum prior to any two-state agreement.

The way things are going, there will be nothing left for a two state agreement. Israel is devouring it all. I will not be surprised, if when my children are grown, Israel finds herself being forced to contemplate a one state solution, after all.

I think this shoot back initiative could work very well, if only these altercations could be zoomed into living rooms of US citizens. This is the only audience in the world that currently matters. There might be less need then for US Presidents and presidential candidates to trip over themselves to eagerly prove their zionist credentials to their electorates. But it seems unlikely that this would be allowed.

Old Polish proverb:

"Jewish people, while hitting you, complain you hurt their hand."

"Oh, vey, oh vey, the persecution, the persecution."

Fox Defends Airing Of When Jews Attack

LOS ANGELESIn the face of widespread public outcry, Fox TV executives spoke out Monday in defense of last week's airing of When Jews Attack.

The hour-long, Robert Urich-hosted showwhich its detractors are decrying as "shock TV at its basest" and "a sickening appeal to voyeuristic, lowest-common denominator tendencies"features explicit, uncensored video footage of enraged Jews violently striking out at others.

"For the next hour, what you will see you may find disturbing, even shocking," Urich said during the show's introduction. "But remember: The footage you are about to see is real."

....

"Children should not be exposed to such violent footage," said Sharon Blaine, head of the San Francisco-based What About The Children? organization. "In this day and age, we should be above such trash TV."

"I do not want my child to feel that it is acceptable to resort to hitting, kicking and pinching her siblings, like the Jews she sees on television," concerned parent Sandra Hueber said.

While most of the program's critics are condemning its offensive content, others are objecting to the message it may send the nation's Jews.

"I fear that the televised glamorization of such attacks may wind up provoking America's already-volatile Jewish population into committing further acts of battery," said Anthony Rasmussen, director of the American Center For Media Studies.

In reaction to the show, Jewish groups are calling for a boycott of Fox.

"As a Jew, I am deeply offended by this program," said B'nai B'rith International president Milton Feig during a press conference to announce the boycott. "We must send a clear message to Fox that this sort of garbage will not be tolerated." He then flew into a berserk rage, hurling ceramic vases at reporters and swinging a folding chair wildly.

Footage of Feig's attack is scheduled to air April 8, in a second installment of the show.

Actually, there are such Palestinian groups like ADALA, I believe which translates as law. So how do you know if there Palestinian human rights groups or not? Anyway, the Israeli Government would ignore them and so would Hamas or whatever.

what exactly would be more extreme than the Jew hate on Palestinian TV or sending suicide bombers into Pizza places to places or teaching children that the Jews came from apes? Yes I ask myself why the palestinian people have not become more radicalized.

: the thugs with sticks should be prosecuted. If the BBC story has it right, there is no excuse for such behavior on the part of the settlers.

Actually, the Israelis have the ultimate excuse. God promised them all this land, for ever, in their infallible book. Can't get a better excuse than that.

From Hitchens' God is not great

Quote:
An Israeli zealot named Dr Baruch Goldstein had come to [a cave in Hebron where Abraham murdered his son to show his love for God - popular tourist attraction for Jews, Christians and Muslims alike] and, unslinging the automatic weapon that he was allowed to carry, discharged it into the Muslim congregation. He killed 27 worshippers and injured countless others before being overwhelmed and beaten to death. It turned out that many people already knew Dr Goldstein was dangerous. While serving as a physician in the Israeli army he had announced that he would not treat non-Jewish patients, such as Israeli Arabs, especially on the Sabbath. As it happens, he was obeying rabbinic law in declining to do this, as many Israeli religious courts have confirmed, so an easy way to spot an inhumane killer was to notice that he was guided by a sincere and literal observance of the divine instruction. Shrines in his name have been set up ever since.

And they, the theists, say we need God to be moral! Laughing hahaha!
