Sounds like the sort of thing I would do to keep myself entertained on the job.

It's a franchise. They have routines and procedures which they have to follow or they could get fired-surprising a genius like yourself could not figure that one out.

You are welcome.

The drink is finished and she then punches in the number and the buzzer goes off. Why oh Why ? I was not more then two feet behind the counter the entire time..

Bcos she didn't want to start a conversation with you?
Bcos she didn't know the english word for "come and get it"?
Bcos you were too slow to notice it was ready?

That would just make her giggle more.

Sounds similar to my going into a Burger King and ordering a BDCB set. Cashier calls my order into into the mic, rings it up, takes my money, then GOES BACK TO THE GRILL to fill my order. If no one else is there working, why call it into the mic?

Just last week, I stopped by my neighbourhood's Mcdonald's for a few hamburgers before heading off to work. When I walked in the girl at the front counter was chit chatting was her friends while I was standing there for a solid minute there were 2 custumers who did not have the decency to step aside for the next custumers while waiting for their orders, fine . A couple walked, barged through and got their order, fine! After serving the later custumer she went back and continued on with then chit chat. I remained very patient, that she maybe she wasn't awared of my presence, abit later I gently called out Jogiyo and louder the second time she turned around with this dum surprised look on her face. "3 hamburgers please" I said, she looks confused so I spoke in korean "hambogo sae gae juseyo" She then pointed out the burgers combo menu on the neon board Question One of her friend then came, picked up the pamphlet menu next to the counter and slightly slammed it in front of my face with a giggled; I just wanted to strip her naked and spank that yellow ass. I had to repeated the word hamburger 4 times and she still didnt get it so I had to gesture my way through until she finally figured it out; her and friends immediately started giggling and talked shit in Korean and along joined a few customers, trust me it's not funny at all.

Maybe she wanted to know what kind of hamburger you wanted?

Also, your "yellow ass" comment is out of line.

It might seem odd to you, you just want your coffee and you can see that no one else is there. However, we don't know how many people will or won't walk in to the coffee shop while she is making your drink. If there were a sudden rush after you placed your order, how pissed would you be if your drink got lost in the chaos

but for years I've had success at places like Burger King, McDonalds, Steak and Shake, A&W, Dairy Queen and other restuarants. I ordered milk shakes at those places and amazingly enough I got them. No 진동 buzzer thing to help me. She doesn't have to be a mind reader to follow this simple logic:

Boy orders ice cream coffe beverage. He might actually make sure he receives it and not go off to another country.

Of course you are right. maybe very early in the morning the Coffee Bean will be slammed with a sea of people and I will be helplessly a drift without my coffee milkshake. Then under those circumstances I will thank my lucky stars for that buzzer thing.

Is there the possiblity that the buzzer thing keeps track of data of when an order is placed and how fast it takes to get it to the customer?
I worked in fast food years ago and we had a key pad that we had to punch in number every time a customer picked up their order. The head company decided our times were slow so they told the management to cut staff. in our busiest hours we had 4 people working in a store that needed 6 or 7. 1 person at the grill, 1 making ice creams and drinks, 1 taking orders, 1 working the drive thru. Of course the head office wasn't happy when they found our we had complaints on the messy state of our dinning area. Who was supposed to go clean it when all the employees were busy filing orders? Confused
