On Daves you can find just about any topic.
I'm wondering why, when someone posts about a great school they worked at and are leaving - their posts get deleted and/or are flamed for 'not paying' for an advertisement?

Personally, I would LOVE to read about great experiences at schools where a job is becoming available. What is another alternative? Would it be an idea to start a website, a blog even .. where people post about a great job experience where a position is opening? Is there someway we can actually make a space on Daves where people CAN legitimately suggest their own job if they are leaving and really enjoyed it?
You often see posts here about great areas to work ... but it would be (in my opinion) great to see someone, that perhaps I've seen posting in Daves, have come to value the opinion of etc .. or WHATEVER ... offer their great job to someone else.

Just a thought and I'm curious to hear what you all think too. Smile

$75 and you too can tell the world about the great job you are leaving and need to find a replacement for....

This board is supported by job advertising....

No ads = no board....

IF that is not suitable to you... Feel free to start your own board ... or use one of the free boards to post your "great job needs replacement teacher" notes.

No no .. it has nothing to do with NOT being suitable for ME in any way.

I was just curious. Although I have found Daves a great place to get advice, hear experiences etc ... I was genuinely wondering about a way to share great jobs. I'm not looking at ways to cheat Daves, Im not even advertising .. it just seems there are SOOO many posts about crappy jobs and experiences .. it would be fantastic to read about schools that ARENT on a blacklist or something? Thats all.

I personally just can't understand why everyone has to jump on the poster who posts something POSITIVE about their job. It's very silly how someone can post about their job and how much it sucks, and everyone calls the poster a whiner or tells him to go home if he hates it so much, but if someone says something positive and tries to give their school a good review simply because they feel it's justified, they get blasted for advertising, and the post gets deleted. It seems like the only acceptable thing to do here is post p o r n and complain about Korea and Koreans, NOT talk about jobs...I mean, the name of this forum is "The Korean JOB Discussion Forum" so why are we chastised for using it for its apparently misleading purpose?

You can go over to eslcafe.com. They have a thread specifically for job leads.

At least we get to complain about bad jobs on this board. I think they're a lot more strict about complaints on the international board.

Also keep in mind that the definition of a "great job" varies.

For example one person might think that teaching kids in a rural area is a great job...whereas it might be how another person defines Hell (even though the contract is kept to and not violated by the employer).

It's very subjective.
