I've read many articles on the Korean taxes and they all have something different to say. Can anyone just give me the final scoop. If you're making between 2.0 M Won and 2.4 M Won what taxes do you have to pay and how much is each deduction

Income Tax????
Residence Tax????
Korean Nat Pension????
Any others I should know about????

Instead of asking us to use the search button and look up the information for you then posting it here, wouldn't it be faster if you just used the search option yourself?

Just saying...

Hey Gord,
Thanks for the insulting remark.....I hope you feel special!!!!
Actually I did a lot of research, and reviewed several websites, however, the various sources were conflicting. Otherwise I wouldn't have taken the time to ask anyone, nor would I expect anyone to do my research for me. So next time...just keep on moving unless you have something intellegent to say....But thanks for showing me the "SEARCH' button....I never would have found it....you must have gone to GENIUS school.....

Hey Waterbaby,
Just wanted to say thank you for your reply. I appreciate you letting me know that the efl-law site is relatively accurate. PS...you're much nicer than Gord

It won't matter what your tax rate is if your boss isn't deducting that amount from your paycheck.

Make sure you get a signed receipt with each paycheck stating your deductions (if your boss takes care of taxes, that is--sometimes it is your responsibility).

I didn't insult you, I simply stated that it would have been faster if you had even tried to look. Especially since the answer was found linked to from the second post in this (and every) forum. It would appear you didn't even try to look, but instead just posted up your question and hoped someone would give you the answer. This was particularly amusing after citing that you had already received conflicting answers previously but now you're hoping that someone will automatically have the correct answer.

Further, I do find great humour in your attempt to flame me due to the amateurish level you're at combined with your excuse of "nor would I expect anyone to do my research for me" after asking "what taxes do you have to pay and how much is each deduction". Make your mind up.

I don't know now. At first I gave you the finest advice in the world, but then you retort with an insult. I'm shocked and saddened. Does this mean we can't be friends anymore, especially after you provided me with such amusement?

Actually- I too am wondering about year end income taxes.

My school had me go to Immigration last week to file out a form, a declaration that I've been living in the same place for over a year- I forget the official name.

and than I watched a friend whizz through a pile of credit card and medical recipts- which I never thought to collect but maybe can go get them now........

this link is interesting, and both waterbaby and CLG don't mention this issue in terms of Income tax and the year end stuff for long timers. Though both of there threads are great Very Happy

So, where do I get the actual form, how can I fill it out or will my school fill it out. sounds like it may be a nice little rebate this year...

and will those doctors give me receipts after that fact??

or is this just a bit of won and not worth the effort-

so many questions-

wish Lemon and Kimcheeking were around to answer all my ponderings...

cheers

Chonbuk
