I am interested in what people are paying on average per month in officetel or apartment fees and if you have any 'weird' (korean)
fee's.
For example, I pay 2,500 for having a tv. WTF?
I pay building renov fees but I have never seen the building being renovated.
I pay the parking attendant to sleep.
I pay the building security guy to flirt with pretty girls.
I pay the cleaning lady to clean everywhere except outside my door.
I pay for the whole officetel to be illuminated all night, kept at some stupidly high temperate when its cold and freezing cold when its hot.
And I pay for a host of things my K-Teacher can't explain.
Total 125,000 per month Crying or Very sad

It is a building with both residential units and offices or shops.
My officetel has a convenience store and a car dealership on the ground floor and a government office on the third floor. I can even buy furniture from a showroom on the second floor.

I pay around 30,000w in "Management fees". Basically, it include the the fee for my card key, some guy that sweeps the stairs once a week, and I guess to replace light bulbs in the hallway.

complete crap though. 10 people in my building. 10 * 30,000 = 300,000w a month the building manager is pulling in each month on top of the rent.

Depends on the time of year....

In the summer it ranges from 100,000- 150,000

and in the winter it hits between 179,000 and 290,000
(I wish it wasn't so high...but the windows are drafty and huge and it's a very large loft apartment)

It's the one of the few bad things about my home. Crying or Very sad

Last year about 100,000 won in my Officetel plus another 125,00 won on average for utilities (and I hardly ever used the a/c or heater or stove top) plus another 60,000 won for internet and cable per month. Jeez.

However, I am now on the outskirts of Seoul in a small 4 story apartment building and pay 50,000 won for "management fees" BUT it includes internet and cable, electricity and water. And only about 8,000 won for for gas last month. Nice.

Darn it, now that I see this, I was getting ripped off royally, wasn't I?

these fees are no different than the rest of the world.. if they weren't listed on a bill, they'd be built into the price..

really, the only thing should be that if you're supposed to get "free housing" from your employer, it really should be free...

I pay about 120-150, like most others

I pay 50, and I live in a 3 story walkup with 12 apartments. $600 for what? The building isn't that nice and the landlords a "donkey," if you will.

This month my bill was W90K (which includes, electricity and water)

In the four month's I've been there, this has been the most expensive (thanks to electricity from aircon) the lowest it's been is W80K. Gas is paid seperatly.
