At the press conference with DMC from RUN-DMC today, the Korean press corps asked about the mad cow issue, to which DMC, who had no idea what they were talking about, gave a very general and joking reply along the lines of Well, I guess no one wants mad cow and Gotta protect the people, safety first.

...

No one except for the Korea Herald reporter even asked any questions relevant to his actual music.

The End of Days must surely be drawing nigh.

And this from the Comments section ...

First of all, was DMC playing at the Hard Rock Cafe tonight?

Why isn't this common knowledge or publicized?

Second, I though this post was joke until I went to the link.

Then I read it, it was true, and this is another part of the story

After the Korean press corps was not satisfied with the answer, they pressed for a clearer answer three more times, forcing another more coherent statement for soundbite purposes until a Korean publicist came over and saved him by whispering into his ear...

Third, Marmot's Hole is looking waaay different tonight.

I saw posters for it in Sinchon, both Korean and English.

I just looked at the Hard Rock Cafe Seoul's website. NO EVENTS are announced.

But there are some Korean and English links off google that have the info.

I'm starting a new concert bitch thread.

The Korean Herald has long provided us with valuable facts, such as this snippet from July 28th, 1997:

Quote:
The heat wave which has encompassed Korea for about a week, has generated various heat-related accidents and deaths. At least 10 people died from the effects of electric fans which can remove oxygen from the air and lower body temperatures...

On Friday in eastern Seoul, a 16-year-old girl died from suffocation after she fell asleep in her room with an electric fan in motion. The death toll from fan-related incidents reached 10 during the past week. Medical experts say that this type of death occurs when one is exposed to electric fan breezes for long hours in a sealed area. "Excessive exposure to such a condition lowers one's temperature and hampers blood circulation. And it eventually leads to the paralysis of heart and lungs," says a medical expert.

"To prevent such an accident, one should keep the windows open and not expose oneself directly to fan air," he advised.

That's why it's surely a sign of the Apocalypse.

It does come across as a Yangpa article, doesn't it?
