Sorry to post this here. i have tried to figure this out from maps and what not.
I don't mean the Metroploitan City - I mean the smaller Gwangju.
If anyone knows how far/ how long it would take to get in to Seoul/ what the journey would be like...
I would appreciate it
Thanks |

You mean the one just SE of Seoul, near Bundang and Seongnam?
Well, it depends what part of Seoul you are coming from.
From Jamsil, it takes me 20-30 minutes to get there by motorcycle.
From Hongdae, it would take twice as long. |

I used to live in Hanam, the next town over, and it took about a half hour to get the bus into Cheonho station. Cab rides home from Itaewon were a little under 30,000W. |

The 1113 and the 1113-1 buses both go from Gwangju to Seoul frequently - every ten minutes. They go via the expressway so they are quite quick. It takes about 30 minutes to Cheonho dong, and 35 minutes to Gangbyeon (East Seoul Bus Terminal). There is also another bus which is very infrequent and it goes to Gangnam - I think it is the 500-1 - but I would avoid it because it takes several hours! |

I lived in part of Gwangju for most of last year, and how long it takes and what is the best way to get there does quite literally depend on what part of the city you are living in as it is spread out of a relatively large area and is effectively made up of a number of smaller towns each surrounded by farmland. I was on one side of the city and it took up to 20 minutes to get to some of the other areas of the city. Depending on where you are in Gwanju you will use different buses to get into Seoul (or to the closest point of the Seoul subway - which is different for different areas of the city) . For me (in Taejeondong) the 32 bus was the main bus which ran and took me around 20-30 minutes to get into Moran (which was the closest subway station). The same bus continued into Jamsil which is where it terminated in around 40 minutes. For me I could get into the subway faster than I could travel to many other parts of Gwangju (which would often have meant changing buses). The buses mentioned by the previous poster did not travel through/from my part of the city.
Do you know which part of the city you will/would be living in? |
