I am going to China for a short trip. I am here on a single entry E-2 visa.

How can I get this changed so that I can leave the country and return?

What are the consequences of simply leaving and then returning without having gotten a stamp on my visa that allows me another entry into the country?

I have gotten it changed at the airport on my last visa when I went on a trip, but I dont really have a lot of time at the airport this time. Can I get it done at immigration in Mokdong?

Thanks.

YES! Go to immigration. Or go to the airport early. Immigration is the best, safest option. You won't be let back into Korea without a multi-entry stamp.

You can get your re-entry permit at the airport or at your local immigration office. You can also do it on-line ( http://www.g4f.go.kr ).

If you do NOT get a re-entry permit, your visa will be voided when you leave and you will NOT be allowed to work upon your return (without getting a NEW E2 visa).

A question i would like answered is this -
I orginally got a single entry and went to the Immi guys and got a multiple entry - this was a peice of paper put into my passport saying "multiple entry until " my E2 visa end date. Now if i renew with the same employer for another year does my visa revert back to a single once this date written on the sticker has passed ( ie my orginal e2 visa end date) or is my current e2 always going to be a multiple entry e2 as long as it is still with the current employer?
thanks
