My doctor is a vegetarian. Even he admits these People don't have much of an arguement.

The Korea Teachers and Education Workers' Union plays a huge role in these protests. They're not only against beef---they have loads of other problems with LMB, obviously---but they are certainly rallying people under the Mad Cow banner:

I was saying weeks ago even before the protests happened that the Left in Korea is always looking to tap into paranoia and xenophobia. Also, some of the networks are into tapping into xenophobia as well, and they are against the Right, so the Right has a major problem. They don't have the luxury of having a dictatorship like they used to in the old days. The Left had their supporters spreading lies on the internet, TV, and so many Koreans got outraged and went against the president. However, the president created many problems for himself. He set himself up for his own trap through a series of mistake. I didn't support how he went against members of his own party to be very strong. That sounded too dictatorial. His canal idea was also not practical and neither were his proposals when it comes to teaching English, and his major promises about job creation were crazy. In the end, 2MB is largely at fault for what happened for the way he did things, and the Left exploited the situation very well. The protestors were used as a tool of the Korean Left, and they didn't realize it, and they didn't realize how they were lied to by people on the internet and also on TV.

So, are we saying, take these few ringleaders out, and we'll have peaceful times?
Well then, the solution is very easy, isn't it.

Anyone read this article in the Chosun Ilbo?

I thought it was probably the Korean Cattle Association making a last ditch effort to monopolize the beef trade, but it's those pesky North Koreans. Very clever!

The Chosun Ilbo is a conservative paper. Nothing wrong with that but it would be wrong to just take their view as the final word. Unfortunately many expat blogs look no further than the Chosun Ilbo.

Saying the NK sympathizers are running this is absurd. It would be like me saying that Japanese sympathizers are behind everything Lee does.

Take a look at the people turning out for these demos. You'll see people from all walks of life, young and old and many former supporters of Lee. The Korean news media have reported this.
