I worked in an after school program.

I asked about my late pay.

They said it was I who had the day wrong... yeah right.

They said my school was being closed down due to lack of students, and they would move me to a new school. I spoke with the Immigration people, the labour board and a nice lawyer, and they all agreed it was illegal.

So I declined the new school.

The company that runs my after school program fired me. They also said they are with holding my last pay (for airifares from NZ and my visa run to Japan, even though it was them who rushed me here. I could've waited longer I told them, but that is my cost..... WTF?)

They said they will give me a letter of release if I agree to work today and Friday. They've lied so many times before about anything and everything. What to do?

I have no idea what to do now in terms of work, and what I need to do to get a new job (I can find one, but how do I take it legally). What do I need to do visa wise? Visa run to Japan again?

Thanks.

Private message me and I'll tell you the name of the company.

First thing you need to do is call labor back and tell them what happened. After they jump up and down, I'd be willing to bet that your situation will be a lot less murky, and perhaps even a little rosier.

Contact the labor board at 1350. Also tell immigration what's been going on with this company. Report them for illegal activity.

I've spoken with both already and they are about as useful as *beep* on a bull.

Labour folk: "You only work 3 month, so company is OK fire you, no one month noticeee."

Immigration: "What is the problem? Sorry my Englishee is not so OK."

The big question is, what the *beep* is wrong with some of the Korean employer butt-monkeys?

They are the most racist, disrespectful bunch of people on the planet. I wish there was a real Captain Planet so he'd flush all these fuckers* down the drain.

*Scummy Korean employers (I know not all of them are bad)

Dont work anymore, if they fire you you don not need a letter of release for an ew job, they must cancel your visa themselves anyway.

You need to get that letter of release or you'll be unable to get a new visa with your new school.

I'm so glad that I'm on F visa.

Seriously, Korean law makers need to change the visa rule so that E visa folks won't be held prisoner to these crooked Korean bosses.

If its like most after school programs you will have some leverage. I bet you opened that second bank account? Tell the company you will go to the tax man and report them.
The company isnt your sponsor but the school is. The school is technically liable for your pension, health insurance and what not. Probably no one was paying this. Tell your company you will get the school in big trouble if you dont get everything you want.

Go to your boss's office. Tell him that you know he has the thing and that it's your property. You need it and you need it now. While there, call your embassy and put the fool on the line with them.
