I have a friend who's leaving Korea and has about 200 photos she wants to get off her phone and either onto her computer, or onto a CD.

Is there a special USB cord you can get to transfer those photos? Or do photo shops provide the service of tranferring cell phone photos to CD?

Thanks!

You can buy the phone USB cord at most phone stores, if you want to transfer onto your computer I think you'll need to download the software program depending on what brand and model her phone is, it's free but you might need a Korean to help you out. Photoshop wont work, I've tried it.

1) yes, there is a cord.
2) your friend might have a mini sd (memory) slot on her phone
3) KT just offered to do it for me for 5,000 won when i changed phones.
4) you can always email them via cell phone (200 is a bit much though)

Cool, I thought someone might help us if we looked like we totally didn't know what we were doing. I'll try some phone shops out. Maybe someone'll be bored and willing to help.

Yeah, we talked about the email option, but she says it is quite expensive to email one photo (upwards of 1000 won), so it could get too pricey.

The previous poster is right, you need a cable and the software

I have a Samsung phone so I had to go to their website and download the softwear. It only comes in korean, so it took a lot of figuring out. After that it was fairly simple to upload the photos to my computer.

the software does other cool stuff, like moves your phone book to your computer, and synchs it whenever you connect, but that feature requires registration. I needed a Korean to help me with that.

In short, the best way is to get the shop to do it. Second best way is to buy a memory card for your phone and move the photos to that, then put the memory card into a computer

i transfer all my cell phone pics using the Bluetooth option. does her computer have Bluetooth integrated? then it's so easy, no USB cable needed.

Ah bluetooth, yeah, I forgot about that. I thought about it too, but my computer didn't have bluetooth built in.

I heard you can get a USB gadget called a "bluetooth dongle" that will make your computer bluetooth-capable. I think you would still need the software to connect the phone and computer though, wouldn't you?

I've also been looking for a USB cable for my phone. I was sure it would be easy to find, but that was silly of me.
I can't understand why it didn't come with my new phone in the first place.
I went to several phone shops to buy one, but they dn't carry them. I was told I had to go to the 4th fl or an after service centre. It's transfers away from me. So strange.
