does anyone find they can pick up people's wireless internet in big apartment/officetels? do most people put passwords on them, or not bother?

lots of un-secured networks where I live, but all of them are unreliable and low signal.
I use 'em, because I'm a bit cheap, and I have a computer at work anyway, but it can be frustrating. Weekdays are better than weekends for some reason.
Most weeks I wish for decent internet at home, but the 3 year contracts are a killer. If you don't sign for 3 years it's pretty expensive.
Man, I think I'm the first person in the world to call BS on the whole "wired korea" thing. Contracts here are onerous, not cheap, and the internet isn't fast. Not where I work anyway, and definitely not during peak times (IMHO) |

I think it really depends on where you live.
My first place had several connections but they were either NESPOT or password protected networks. My new place has two wireless connections but they're weak and unreliable. My cousin has about the same experience I have. |
