Hi,
I am a US citizen, currently live in Berlin but grew up in the Philippines. Any advice on how to get a Criminal background check if...
1) I didnt grow up in the US
2) Don't live there now (am in Berlin, Germany)

(1) and (2) don't matter a whit to Korean Immigration. All that matters is your passport. If you're coming in on a US passport, they're going to want a CBC from the US.
You have a couple options. Local/state checks are easiest to get, but many (though not all) jurisdictions want to see some proof that you actually lived there. So, if you lived somewhere in the States (no matter how long ago, for how long), that would be the first place to check.
If you've never lived in the US, or otherwise can't get a check from your previous place of residence in the US, then you'll have to go for the FBI check. |
