I think it is implying that Koreans by genetics can not be homosexuals. So if you see gay Korean men in Korea, more in particular in Itaewon, they are not Korean, instead they are Japanese.

Like many cultural references that aren't purely Korean, they probably just have no idea.

In D.C. with my mom back in the 1990s, she had never seen the upside down, rainbow triangle before. She was about to buy a bunch of postcards with that on it because they were "pretty." Looking back, I shouldn't have stopped her and should have told her after they were mailed.

Yup I've been told by a Korean businessmen that any gays in Korea are most definately Japanese and not Koreans.

So why did I see a Korean businessman in TRANS bar with a naked transgender girl / boy sitting on his lap and singing him Karaoke...?

Must have been Japanese....

another waygook and I were at a Hof. Some dude, no English at all, came over to mingle at our table. I could tell he was a well-off business guy from Mokpo with a hooker for the night. Obciously cheating on his wife. He completely ignored his hooker, she hit him and left the bar. The guy sat next to my British friend where he proceeded to drink more and more. got friendlier and friendlier, and then WOAH, he licked my friend's ear.
